Asian Herbivore began as a simple idea
What if the bold, comforting flavours of Asia could be brought to life — without relying on meat at all?
Across Asia, vegetables, spices, and plant-based ingredients have always played a starring role. From Buddhist and Taoist traditions to regional home-cooking passed down through generations, many dishes are naturally vegetarian or vegan, and others transform beautifully with tofu, soy, or other plant-based substitutes. That philosophy inspired us.
But for us, authenticity and freshness matter just as much as flavour. That’s why we insist on using the freshest ingredients we can source — and why we make our ramen noodles in-house every single day. Fresh noodles don’t just taste better; they carry the soul of the dish. They remind us why we began this journey in the first place.
We wanted to show that flavour never needs to be sacrificed — that a bowl of noodles, a bao bun, or a sushi roll can be just as satisfying, vibrant, and soulful when built on plants.
So we created Asian Herbivore:
- A welcoming space where people of all dietary preferences can connect,
- A space where meat-free food feels approachable and exciting, even for those trying it for the first time,
- And where great food becomes a shared experience, not a limitation.
Our story is still being written, dish by dish. And we’re here to make meat-free Asian cuisine not just accessible — but truly unforgettable.
Fresh. Ethical. Thoughtfully Sourced.
At Asian Herbivore, freshness isn’t just part of our process — it’s the start of every day. Each morning, we handpick our ingredients from a blend of trusted sources: Woolworths for consistency and quality, Mr Li’s Farm for authentic Asian vegetables, and Ferreira Fresh for vibrant seasonal produce. Together, these suppliers anchor our kitchen with ingredients we can rely on, allowing us to craft dishes that feel honest, colourful, and full of life. It’s our quiet daily ritual to make sure every bowl begins with ingredients we truly believe in.
Ethical and responsible sourcing is at the heart of our values. We recognise that animal welfare is an essential component of a sustainable food system, and we are committed to ensuring that all animals are treated humanely. As part of this commitment, we pledge to source 100% of our eggs from hens not kept in cages. This guarantees that hens can nest, spread their wings, and engage in natural behaviours.
